Choose Green Packaging

The environment is everyone's concern. “Going green” isn’t a fad or phase. It’s a necessity, especially in an industry criticized for waste, and our commitment is strong and ongoing.

The coffee industry faces several sustainability challenges, like climate change, ethical sourcing, and package waste management. Traditional single-serve products and disposable coffee cups contribute to significant waste. Customers know their choice matters, and many are looking for more sustainable solutions.

One way to make your single-serve coffee products more attractive to consumers is to package your coffee and tea in eco-friendly packaging. Green packaging can increase the popularity of your products while also benefiting the environment.

Recyclable Single-Serve Solutions

We offer retail-ready cartons and corrugated packaging made from recyclable materials that would otherwise become municipal waste. After use, you can collect, separate, process, and use them as raw materials for new products.Our environmentally friendly soft pods are made from recyclable cartons, and the pods and film are fully industrial compostable. Our Pod Pack CUP, a fully Compostable, Keurig®-compatible coffee pod, is made from recyclable polypropylene. Alternatively, you can order these cups in various carton configurations that are industrial compostable.With compostable beverage packaging, you can help lower the use of chemical fertilizers and minimize methane emissions in landfills.

BPI-Certified compostable products

We are proud to offer our LaPod line of BPI-certified products. The Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI) certifies “Industrial Compostable” products that meet relevant ASTM standards for compostability. These products must:

  • Contain no harmful substances.
  • Obtain a certain decomposition and biodegradable rating.
  • Be tested and certified.
  • Be compatible with commercial composting facilities.

The certification process is rigorous and ensures that these items can be cycled back into the soil safely at a commercial composting facility.


To get certified, every product needs to undergo an assessment that includes the following steps:

  • Pre-assessment
  • Testing
  • Technical assessment
  • Artwork assessment
  • Final steps
  • Certification

Not everyone who submits products to the BPI gets certified. By putting our products through the BPI test, we demonstrate the compostability of our packaging. We're proud to offer you and your customers proven eco-friendly solutions.

Sustainable Coffee Manufacturing

To better manage our landfill impact and ensure compliance with all State and Federal regulations, Pod Pack has implemented partner-based programs to address recyclables and hazardous waste in our manufacturing facility. We recycle the following items, effectively minimizing our carbon footprint:

We manage the following hazardous waste responsibly:

  • Wastewater (methanol)
